What I did last weekend…

When I get introduced as a speaker, it normally includes the ‘and he is committed to life long learning’ phrase…. now I have to say, if ever education and self development was important, it is now! I spent the whole weekend immersed in positive energy, noone mentioned the ‘C’ word (credit crunch that is) and I came away with so many new strategies and implementation ideas I would need a twin to get them all done!

So where was I? At a Coaching Bootcamp. Strictly speaking I am not a coach, but as a trainer and public speaker I thought it was relevant enough. and it was. So let’s get to the meat of it. Speaker line-up:

Dan Bradbury: you got to hand it to the guy, just a bit older than my son, he is running multiple businesses and is a marketing dynamo. He spoke about the 5 biggest changes in the industry. Great title: I will put something together for Internet Marketing and Marketers… here is a nugget: “The economic climate has changed. If you are complaining – then what you are really saying is: I am not flexible!”

Topher Morrison: ( I am never sure if it’s two Rs or to Ss…). Known for his NLP and Hypnosis Courses, he spoke on Branding… very interesting indeed. here is a nugget: “all things being equal, the most visible competitor wins”

Andy Harrington: heard about him before, never seen him. He offered public speaking education. How to sell from the stage. Now I love that stuff! His ‘pitch’ at the end of the presentation was masterful! I really enjoyed it. Nuggets? “If you have a problem, then you don’t have a goal or purpose big enough to make it insignificant.”

Nick James: Copywriting. Now here is an interesting one. Words that sell. He has done some great work for people and he shared a lot of information. I won the headline competition with this headline: “How A Broke Drug Addict From Austria Became Financially Free In Just 35 Days Using The Internet Without A Product Or Skill And How You Can Do The Same”. That was cool. I won a price as well! :-) … Nugget: “Every great headline has 1. a big FAT claim (that you can back up), 2. creates curiosity and 3. includes the word YOU”.

and last but not least….

Jason Vale, the Juice Master. Now here is a guy who really squeezes his niche (I know ;-) ). ut instead of trying to sell us on health and juice, he told his business story, which is incredible. He plays the reluctant hero/fool, but this guy is very smart… anyway. loads of nuggets and a photo :-) first. (btw, easiest way to get photos in your blog is using google’s picasa and using the embed link)

Nuggets: “Think smart, there is always an easier way”. “In the Game of Life – there are NO rules”. “Life is too serious to be taken seriously.”

Looking forward to catching up with all of you soon. I am just doing my planning for 2009 and we got some great new events and opportunities lined up as well. Almost launch time, but still secret…

to your success

Daniel
