My name change, a 6 hour test, a bloody forehead and my song on the BBC…

It’s been quite a week :-)

No more cRaZy Austrian

They used to call me the cRaZy Austrian. It all started when I did live demos from stage that could (and many times DID) go wrong.

I called them DDDD ‘Dan’s Daring Demystifying Demos’. And they were a bit daring and cRaZy… And I guess some of my life story is a bit cRaZy as well.

From my drug days in Austria to my 20 years in the religious group to my Pizza days in Slough. Let’s just say I had great ‘variety’ in my life.

But let’s go back to why I’m changing my name. This week a really cRaZy Austrian did a sky dive from 24miles! I mean – what can you say? He should get the title – no argument there.

Felix Baumgartner now officially owns the cRaZy Austrian title.

I was wondering why folks (not just Felix Baumgartner) always strive to do more and more? The problem with DOING and HAVING is that there is always MORE – it never ends.

Not that I have the ultimate answer here, but I gather that BEING aligned with who you really want to be (dare to be) seems to be the key to happiness so you don’t end up chasing stuff that won’t mean much when you finally have it (you might a reference for this in your own life)

Yippie – I’m a certified ICC (what? why? how?)

I also wanted to tell you a bit more about my week.

This week I spent 4 days immersed in doing my Infusionsoft Consultant Certifcation. It all ended in a 6 hour test yesterday. If it all goes well, I should be one of a handful of folks in the UK to enjoy this coveted title. Btw, it was hard my head was hurting!

infusionsoft recently celebrated their 10,000 customer milestone.

Why did I do that? Well – I had three reasons.

First of all I think infusion is awesome and I wanted to make sure I really use it to its’ full potential. I already call it my fifth team member! It does the work of at least a full time person! Soon it will do that job of 2 or 3! (meaning growing the team – not getting rid of our wonderful Corey, Liz and Peter)

Secondly I know they are going places so I want to come along for the ride! They are aiming for 100,000 customers in the next 5 years.

Thirdly many of their clients are perfect customers for me!

Oh – there is a forth just just came to mind – I am gently pushing many of my Mastermind and Diamond Academy Members to use infusion and I want to be 100% certain I can give them great advice.

Your chance to pledge your support – HERE and NOW

So I rushed from the certification at London Heathrow to join the Peace One Day Patrons’ Boardroom, which was awesome (it’s good to support a cause!) and then enjoyed dinner by myself at Yo!

We are currently in another fund raising campaign and I just pledged some more money. I only recently gave a nice big cheque (6ft x 3ft ;-) to Steve Bolton, the head of the Patrons’ Program.

check out the video on peace one day and the crowdfunding project from my co Patron Simon… then go and support the cause. just click on the image of Jeremy Gilley and Jude Law.

Just as I left the new Yo! at Waterloo station, a man in his late fifties fell onto the escalator and cracked his head open. I jumped on the escalator, pulled the emergency stop (I always wanted to do that) and helped him safely to the top. His blood was dripping onto my clothes and hands and after a few minutes station staff came to help out.

It was a great lesson in gratitude but also touching to see that people do care about each other! He was so grateful!

Me and BBC and my musicaliTEE (just for rhymes)

Then I checked my email on my iPhone (I do that at least 100 times a day!) and I had a message from the BBC that a song I wrote and recorded with my song writing partner Jeremy was played on the BBC last week! They also told me that I could embed their special badge of honour on my site… here it is:

Head to bbc.co.uk/introducing, upload your music and you could have your tracks broadcast on BBC Radio

Wow – I was blown away. I am so happy that I can go back and write some more material with Jeremy and upload it to the BBC! Who knows, I might be on X-Factor in the over 45 category next year :-)

Joking apart when I sang and played at my mum’s funeral in the church I realised how much I missed making music and this encouragement from none less than the BBC is a great little kick up my back side to get back into it…

The next level..

just to end the week well I spent 2 days with Chris Cardell and 650 other entrepreneurs in central London. I know of Chris for years and finally made it to one of his rare events. This could be a complete new blog post, but let’s just say it was pretty much what I expected and hoped for and that Chris has many of my future clients :-)

Chris Cardell and me at his sold out event in London. I have not seen a man take £1.5m out of a room with such elegance – ever!

So today is Sunday and I thought I sit here at home and chill a bit…

Well – that is after I write this little blogpost and let you guys know what I’ve been up to.

ciao for now

Daniel

PS: Please leave comments so I know you are out there :-)

Been a stunning day here with blue skies and sunshine showing the autumn colours at their best as I enjoyed a walk through the Tay Forest and around Loch Dunmore and felt so blessed to be where I am. That’s not just in the physical sense although it was a significant decision to move here, but where I am on my life’s journey even though I’ve been little all over the place recently. Your words, Daniel “…BEING aligned with who you really want to be (dare to be) seems to be the key to happiness so you don’t end up chasing stuff that won’t mean much when you finally have it …” resonate so much with what has been part of my core throughout my life and helped me through the rough and the smooth. Not in the exact words but very similar I was sharing that philosophy with a young friend now in Canada on a Skpe call this afteroon as he starts on his current career path.
Your words have been a great reminder to me as I continue on my life’s adventure.
Thank you and I hope you’ve had a great day chilling H:)

What an interesting week for you, Daniel! Congratulations on getting your certificate on infusionsoft, helping the poor bleeding man off the escalator (yes, I too wanted to press that red button!), attending Peaceoneday boardroom but especially pleased you finally got round to wanting to make music again (after being inspired at your mum’s funeral) -perhaps you can’t remember but I had been telling you to not forget that side of your personality as it is a very important part that needs to be aired to complete the person!

Looking forward and very excited to seeing you all tomorrow for my very first Academy event, inspite of my stinking cold!

Yes – keep spreading that message – don’t pursue STUFF. It just gets in the way…

I love the variety in your life Daniel. Fantastic news about your composition being played on the BBC…..but you can’t just write that without including a clip or a link to the song. So, Daniel, please can your next blog post be music related and include some of your stuff?!

    What a week.

Thanks for sharing this Daniel, but a link to the played song would have been perfect – please..
On the subject of Chris Cardell, he certainly hypes up a lot of stuff he produces however not much is new. I would be interested to understand how much you managed to learn from his event?
