It’s your birthday! And people who care about you and love you remember it! So why not use this simple inbuilt reaction to build an even stronger connection with your tribe?
We all know we should be doing more follow up! And while writing an email sequence for prospects or customers might need some planning and strategising, a birthday campaign can be implemented immediately!
Here is what you need (ideally – workarounds for every step exist):
- - a webform that can capture a birthday
- - a database or CRM that can store it
- - a system that reminds you 7 days before a birthday occurs
- - a couple of messages to send to your list
- - a task reminder for one of your team
as usual, I will lean on my good ole’ Infusionsoft to get the job done, but there are workarounds (meaning more manual steps) for every part of this.

Some time ago one of my best customers (not just in terms of how much money she has spent with me) had a round birthday and I only BY CHANCE didn’t miss it. It was on a Facebook conversation or something – I can’t remember. So we sent her a little something, and I know it meant a lot to her. Now I can’t know how much it helped or influenced her decision to renew her membership with us, but I sure know it didn’t hurt!
You see, we all want to belong and if you are in the business of building a tribe or community, then this is just common sense! Remember your tribe’s birthdays! Sent them something.

Oh – before I forget to mention – this Monday our campaign triggered another important birthday – and the flowers were sent on the day! Good? You better believe it!
